The Winter Clothes Give-Away on Sat., Nov. 17, was a great success. Twenty-seven families came for clothes, and a total of 53 children received coats and new outfits. Renee Kleineick, mission chair, was well pleased with the number of people served and the great volunteers that came and helped with the distribution.
The Cub Scouts also were out collecting food for the Second Harvest Food Bank. Although the 139 bags of food collected was not a record number of bags, the Cub Scouts probably had the best percentage of responders this year than in any previous collection. The Scouts distributed 630 empty bags the weekend before, so 139 bags of food collected is a 22% response from households in our community.
